GCSE Results 2024
It was a delight to see our GCSE pupils this morning as they came to collect their GCSE results and celebrate with their family, friends and teachers.
Their excellent results reflect the attitude and effort they have consistently put into their studies over the past two years. We are immensely proud of them. As a year group, they have been fully committed to all aspects of school life, contributing to, and excelling in, music, sport, art, and drama. Many of them are among the first of our pupils to achieve the Bronze level Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Their tenacity serves as an inspiring example to the younger year groups.
Headmistress Christina McCullough commented: “Our pupils richly deserve these wonderful results, which are significantly above the national average. These outcomes are a testament to their determined attitudes, the unwavering support from their families, and the close collaboration with their teachers. All our pupils have secured places at excellent Sixth Forms and colleges, with some choosing to continue their studies within the Trust at Leicester Grammar School. We wish them every success in their future endeavours.”
As a cohort, 19% of grades were 8 and 9, 44% were grade 7 to 9 and 92% were grade 4 to 9. Overall, the cohort achieved a Value Added of +0.7 evidencing that the pupils achieved well above expectations. Sinan Al-Tikrieti achieved the highest success with eight grades 8 and 9 and a 7 in Further Mathematics.
The year group saw some outstanding individual achievements in Science, English and Mathematics. And all pupils in History and Religious Studies achieved a Grade 7 or above. Pupils studying Animal Care and/or Food and Cookery achieved exceptional results with almost all achieving a Distinction or Starred Distinction.
As the Class of 2024 now head off to take up their Sixth Form places, we wish them all the best as they enjoy the next steps in their educational journey and we certainly hope they will keep in touch.
